- AMERICAN DISABLED for ATTENDANT PROGRAMS TODAY (ADAPT) Nationally ADAPT focuses on promoting services in the community instead of warehousing people with disabilities in institutions and nursing homes. Attendant services (help with things like eating, dressing, toileting, moving from wheelchair to bed, etc.) are the cornerstone to community based services for people with severe disabilities. ADAPT is working to get 25% of the Medicaid long term care funds redirected to pay for a national, mandated attendant services program.

- Disability Resource on the Internet Information is power! - Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) FES is a means of producing contractions in muscles, paralysed due to central nervous system lesions, by means of electrical stimulation. Applications are found in stroke, spinal cord injury, head injury, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. The electrical stimulation is applied either by skin surface electrodes or by implanted electrodes. The department has a number of projects developing its own techniques or assessing devices produced elsewhere. Some of the developments have progressed from research to clinical service.
- Great Lakes Area Regional Center for Deafblind Education (GLARCDBE) This project provides technical assistance to families, educational personnel, and other service providers through training efforts and the dissemination of information on innovative approaches to educating children and youth with dual-sensory impairments.

GSIL provides four core services of; Information & Referral (I&R), Peer Support & Counseling, Skills Training, and Individual & Systems Advocacy. GSIL also provides; A Personal Care Attendant Program
